New sports hall in the “forest” wrapped in acorn-brown steel profiles

Just outside Aarhus lies Risskov – a neighbourhood named after Riis Skov, Denmark’s first public forest, granted to the citizens of Aarhus by Queen Margrethe I in 1395. It is in this part of Aarhus – right in the “forest,” one might say – that Risskov Efterskole is located.

The school has now gained a new sports hall, and the colours of the forest have influenced its design. The facade is clad in DS Nordic Click Seam 475 in Acorn Brown, a colour that is both warm and striking.

The new hall is designed to create a connection between surroundings and activity. The vertical lines of the facade cladding mirror the forest’s trees, while large windows invite natural light in and open the space towards its surroundings.
