Modern roofing solution completes boarding school

Set between forest and open fields, just eight kilometres from the centre of Odense, Rågelund Efterskole has introduced new facilities with room for even more students. As students are welcomed into the two new residential buildings, they enter an environment where function, form and community go hand in hand. The buildings bring students together in a setting that strengthens social bonds and creates new opportunities for both connection and everyday wellbeing. With a roof of DS Nordic Click Seam 475 in the colour Silver, the new facilities also gain a clean and contemporary appearance that ties the development naturally into the school’s existing structure.

The two buildings form part of the first phase of a larger master plan developed by tegnestuen Mejeriet. The plan expands the school’s existing facilities, allowing teaching and administration to remain in the older buildings, while the new student rooms are arranged in a semicircle around a green shared outdoor space. Here, smaller zones emerge for relaxation, a fire pit and outdoor areas where students can meet. At the same time, the shared indoor spaces are designed with natural daylight and calm niches that invite a pause from the pace of the day.

Steel profiles create a calm expression

The choice of DS Nordic Click Seam 475 gives the roof surfaces a harmonious and contemporary appearance, defined by long vertical lines and concealed fixing. It is a roofing material that not only adds character to the building but also ensures fast and precise installation. The matte surface finish provides a refined look, while the colour Silver complements the school’s green surroundings and the light timber materials used in the construction.
