Steel-clad production powerhouse in Himmerland

As you drive into Aalestrup, you are greeted by an impressive sight: Himmerlandskød’s modern slaughterhouse, which since 2022 has gathered activities from three former locations into one state-of-the-art 16,000-square-metre facility. The construction marks a new era for the long-standing company, where thrift, diligence and integrity remain the driving forces—now in surroundings that match the ambition.

Built in collaboration with Amatech A/S, the project stands as a powerful and contemporary industrial building where steel takes centre stage. The exterior architecture, designed by C. F. Møller Architects, focuses on attractive, well-lit working environments and a distinctive architectural expression along the Aalestrup ring road.

With our DS Nordic Click Seam 475 covering large parts of the facade and the DS Frame System framing the windows and doors, the building achieves a cohesive appearance where aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand. The facade cladding in the colour Dark Silver lends the slaughterhouse a calm, exclusive character that harmonises with the industrial design language and the company’s proud craftsmanship traditions.

Steel profiles with character and quality

The long, vertical lines of the DS Nordic Click Seam give the facade a striking and modern look, while the concealed fastening ensures a clean and seamless design. The solution is not only visually strong, but also practical in operation, requiring minimal maintenance and offering high resistance to the Danish climate. Combined with the Frame System around windows and doors, the result is a precise, professional finish where every detail works together.

Certified quality inside and out

As part of DS Stålprofil’s wide range of facade cladding, the steel profiles used are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze. This certification highlights the focus on responsible production, material purity and long service life—values that reflect Himmerlandskød’s own commitment to integrity and quality at every level.
